Exilion Wind – Finland’s Largest Wind Transaction

Etha Wind participated in the largest deal to date in Finnish wind power as the Buyer’s Technical DD Consultant. The acquired wind farms represent as much as 14% of the wind power in Finland.

Last summer, the largest deal to date in Finnish wind power was struck, as the company Exilion acquired eleven wind farms with a total capacity of 315 MW. Included in the deal were also development projects of 475 MW.

Etha Wind was involved in the giant deal as the Technical Due Diligence consultant and worked intensely with it starting in March this year. The study included, among other things, the grid connection agreements, the permits, and the turbines.

The project was led by Etha Wind’s consultant Caroline Kullbäck, and involved much of Etha Wind’s personnel as well as external experts.

“This is a testament to the fact that Etha Wind masters large and complex projects, that require extensive experience”, says Kullbäck.

Exilion is owned by Finnish pension institutions and invests in renewable energy. The acquired wind farms represent as much as 14% of the total wind power capacity in Finland.

“We are grateful to Exilion and Investment Manager Pasi Valasjärvi for being entrusted with participating in this important deal”, says Kullbäck.
